Coffee Cup Joe, a misfit cup from a Fresno, California manufacturing plant, arrives in NY City via a dashboard seated bus ride. Guided into the hands of his mentor Capshaw, Joe is full of fun, life and adventure; he becomes NY City Daily’s favorite Cup about town.

Joe lives somewhere in midtown NY City above Coffee Your Way Café, his favorite watering hole. There, he fills his head with a Louisa Vargas’ special coffee blend of music, melded roast and gypsy girl mystery.

Joe loves talk entertainment and FUN events. You see, Joe doesn’t always get his names and facts correct - sometimes he blunders about on assignments. He's a work in progress. But, a tireless cup, he tries.

While Joe loves being a globetrotting journalist, his ambition was to some day have his own daily television talk show. And now he is close to landing just that. Known around the world as Coffee with Joe TV, Joe continues his blundering nature while exposing the animated celebrity world with his show.

Obsessed by how many pennies he can find on sidewalks streets on any given day, Coffee Cup Joe collects them all in hopes that just one might be the LUCKY one that makes his dream come true....

This is Happy Flappy. We’re not quite certain if he got his name because of his upbeat, talkative, yet laid back nature, or the fact his feet flap when he walks.

Flappy is an aspiring gadget playing musician and songwriter looking for his break. Flappy’s dream was not subsidized by luck, and he remained a struggling waiter due to his flappy walk.

Happy Flappy met Joe while sharing a ride in Ravi’s cab one day. Quick friends, Joe convinced Capshaw to allow Flappy to come on board NY City Daily. He started out in the mailroom working with Joe. Their fun nature and comic blunders allowed them to ascend to major event reporters for the newly formed FUN HEADLINES division.

Flappy is one of our premiere event reporters. He is also infatuated with bargain buys, sweet deals and street vendors. Years ago, a shy bee named Mumble flew into town searching for more out of life. She knew her place in line to be queen bee at the colony would never happen since no one could understand what she was saying most of the time.

Mumble wanted to make it her mission in life to bring fun people together romantically with her knowledge about nature and love; after all, she is the birds and the bees.

Mumble lives in various flower shops around the city but hangs out during the day in the most romantic park in the world, Central Park, during the Spring, Summer and Fall.

Flying inside the open window of a cab to save her flight time energy one day, she first met Coffee Cup Joe, Flappy, Ravi and Betty. Mumble found that they really understood her and they all became fast friends after their first encounter.

Taken by Mumble’s story, Joe knew Capshaw was looking for a weekly columnist to anchor the Relationship corner at the paper – and, he made it happen for Mumble.

During Mumbles’ celebration of her new job, she found a magical flower in the park. The transformation that occurs as she pollinates this flower brings her inside to the forefront. She morphs into - Bumble Boots…Queen Bee of Love. Finally writing her column and beeing what she dreamed, she delivers her weekly message of how to make each and every day a “Find.Love.Day”. Louisa Vargas was the most sought after gypsy model in the world. Photographers were awed by her beauty and grace while designers stole her style. She left the industry’s peak in order to pursue other interests, only modeling at special events.

Louisa bought a midtown NY City building and opened up a café in support of her love and the world’s celebration of coffee, mixing some of the most magical blends, defying description. She named her place, Coffee Your Way Café. She has magic about her. Some say she could cast spells on the wicked.

Coffee Cup Joe arrived one day in answer to an advertisement for an apartment rental above the Café. When he stepped in to the café to inquire about it, he heard her singing, saw her and said, “Yes, I’ll take it!” before even looking at the apartment.

Joe had not seen Louisa’s kind of magic since leaving Amie Free in Missoula, Montana to come to NY City. The Café becomes Joe’s joint, the place for his “morning fill” – and a place of FUN gathering for all the characters and their friends.

Betty Beat’s father is one of the best cops the city has ever known. As an only child she was expected to follow in his footsteps. While it appealed to Betty to help keep the city safe and fun for all, it would keep her within striking distance of maybe landing her dream of becoming a Broadway actor or Soap Opera Star.

Betty wanted to be a street cop and requested assignment in the cities Times Square. It is a happening place for Broadway and New Years and full of the same energy she seemed to naturally possess. Betty likes to keep pulse on the city and this was the area from which to do it. Her motto is to "have FUN, be safe and enjoy celebration."

One day, while walking the beat, Betty spotted a cab swerving near out of control in the Square. There was a cup on the dashboard (Joe) a happy dude in the back seat laughing (Flappy) and a driver (Ravi) swatting at a bee (Mumble) that had just flown inside the car. They hit a fire hydrant, abruptly stopped and all laughed at the site, as Betty was getting soaked while writing a ticket. Once Mumble mumbled what happened, Betty had the same laugh and tore up the ticket. They all became friends.
